Like, being a 2D game, Metroidvania slash, and I can't remember, is it Mad Catz or something like that, is the game, or the game developers.

So were you a household with like the first party accessories? Did you have the first party controllers and a first party memory card and rumble pack and things? Or did you have like an assortment of like odd ones that would show up? We definitely

had some Mad Catz controllers in our day there, but but we, we definitely had at least two of the, uh, the first party controllers, memory cards, rumble packs.
Dave JacksonGUEST

I couldn't tell you, but, um, I remember we definitely had the third, like mad cats controller for a friend, you know, they came over, but yeah, we, we, and then on the game cube, there was like the game cube and the X-Box, especially later on, uh, we had a bunch of those third party controllers, um,
Darren HupkeHOST

So if that's of interest to you, please ask the like button if they'd like to play Mario Kart with you on your N64.
Mr BallenHOST

When they say yes, have them come over and then force them to use the broken Mad Catz controller.

Yeah, I can't see myself buying one of these because ultimately I think my daughter's going to play everything on PlayStation and Switch.
ChrisHOST
31:59
But hopefully it'll mean others follow suit because I think for years they've always had the third-party controllers have done it, like Mad Catz.
ChrisHOST
32:07
been mad crazy kittens out there um i've always been like various sizes so but i think if you look in like the agos catalog and nintendo do quite a lot of like wired uh controllers and stuff with like pikachu and everything so it's nothing crazy but as you said it's nice to have an officially branded recognized one to keep it all together which is always good definitely Moving on to controllers, to the things that you play them with, and that is video games.
ChrisHOST

We've got a few reviews in this week.
Keith DahlHOST
29:47
Well, it's not cheap on the hardware front, probably more than making the game.
Dave MooreHOST
29:51
Yeah, well, we watch Mad Catz go out of business together, you and I both.
Dave MooreHOST

did the first one that way, but then there was another one I think I did through the app, I believe.
Dave MooreHOST
41:51
Yeah, firmware updates are always hit or miss to me because I always wonder, like, they matter.
Dave MooreHOST
41:57
If it doesn't work, how's the firmware going to fix it? They did a bunch of firmware updates to the Rock Band 4 guitars, Mad Catz did, and they still disconnect constantly on PS4.
Keith DahlHOST
42:12
I was looking at a PS4 controller today.
Scott JohnsonGUEST
3:58
on average with good features with you know good technologies for the sticks and the analog and all that so there are plenty of good alternatives out there which made this even more interesting to talk about because we're no longer in the era of the mid 90s to early 2000s when Console controllers were made by the makers of the consoles, and they were the best ones to get.
Scott JohnsonGUEST
4:18
If you went out and bought something like a Mad Catz controller or some other third-party controller, you were just about guaranteed it would be junk, not very good, and it would be the one you'd make your friend use when they come over to the house to play.
Scott JohnsonGUEST
4:32
This is not true anymore.
Scott JohnsonGUEST
4:33
There are so many good third-party choices when it comes to controller replacement and or just including it as your second controller if you buy a new console or something like that.
