Machias

The following vessels of the new Navy have been completed and are now ready for service.

The double-turreted coast defense monitor Miantonoma, the double-turreted coast defense monitor Monterey, the armored cruiser New York, the protected cruisers Baltimore, Chicago, Philadelphia, Newark, San Francisco, Charleston, Atlanta, and Boston, the cruiser Detroit, the gunboats Yorktown, Concord, Bennington, Machias, Casteen, and Petrel, the dispatch vessel Dolphin, the practice vessel Bancroft, and the dynamite gunboat Vesuvius.

Of these, the Bancroft, Machias, Detroit, and Casteen have been placed in commission during the current calendar year.

The following vessels are in process of construction.

The second-class battleships Maine and Texas, the cruisers Montgomery and Marblehead, and the coast defense monitors Terror, Puritan, Amphitrite, and Manadnock, all of which will be completed within one year.

"Lived in North Collins as a kid." I have information about your brother David's grandchildren.

Um, anywhere from, I'm trying to think of the very starting port, like York.

Uh, but that same day s- they start in Oxford as well, and then they also start up in Fort Kent, and then, um, Machias.

So it kind of all comes together, and it is usually about four days of law enforcement officers running the torch and passing it, or in a rare case, if it's a, you know, they've got a, a far distance to cover, you might see them biking the torch-

And what that has allowed us to do is help fund a runway extension in Rangeley Eastport and Jackman, and those extensions made it possible for our airplane to get in and out of there reliably.

The next one we're predominantly interested in is Machias, which is another area that could benefit from that.

So that's an example of a federal partnership.

We also partner with the aviation community generally.
