We are finally in October, my favorite month to get possessed by art, mystery, and mild hysteria.
Daniela ScrimaHOST
2:40
All month long, I'll be covering cursed films, spooky myths, haunted lore, and real-life horror stories that feel too cinematic to be true.

But it all starts here, with a movie so infamous, so layered in death, disaster, and demonic suspicion, that it still makes people sigh a die, their landlord, their husband, and their neighbors.

Now, they were sort of incredibly sort of hippie band who did the music for Macbeth, the film Roman Polanski's Macbeth.
Andrew WebberGUEST

But they're a sort of really sort of beyond folk to you know i nice songs you can sing to sort something much much darker and i suppose the other weird analogy and i'm sure they must have sampled this somewhere would be the wicker man you know this is sort of there's something really pagan and and you know and again they do do samples which are you know referring to religion in some form or other and people have talked about sort of like a cultist sort of like you know sort of interests and things like that that sort of bubble away most obvious samples on the tomorrow's harvest album from 2013 were from day of the dead the george romero movie um john carpenter synthesizers might give you another sort of idea of stuff that they're so those sort

It's beautiful, absolutely beautiful and stunning, but I had this, I don't know if everybody feels this, I certainly had this awareness of, we are physically, geographically at the end of... you know beyond Scotland there's nothing obviously there's Iceland and places like that but it feels like there's nothing beyond it

well interestingly enough I mentioned Macbeth but in the most recent version of Macbeth directed by Justin Kurtzel they filmed that out in you know one of the islands and it's got a sort of an absolutely this is the version with Marianne Cotillard and Fassbinder and you know the landscape is absolutely incredible I can't remember which island it was but it's one of them obviously habitable but fact there's something monumental about this landscape you know and to say the fact that it's sort of like I don't know presumably feels connected with a I guess Cornwall probably has it as well Dartmoor places like that um maybe the district to some extent um but i'm guessing that uh you know this sort of i suppose the other thing about these places is because the weather is generally so bad that adds another sort of weird texture to it you know i mean that you've got you know it's it's a hard i place isn't it as well as being beautiful it's not obviously
Mathew WoodallHOST

you know but again the weather's extraordinary it's dramatic yeah snowstorms will come in and it's like it's like the end of the world yeah it's not just relentless rain and dampness yeah the weather is very very dramatic I found yeah I'm sure but just talking about this sort of you say it has this sort of end of the world
