They're addicted to highs that are too high, lows that are too low, and there's little else that makes them feel truly alive, even if only for a few minutes at a time.

Matthew Logan Vasquez has been living this pirate's life for decades, eternally on the road or in the studio.

He gained notoriety with his band Delta Spirit, whose heartfelt, bombastic American rock and roll found larger and larger audiences.

He soon became a familiar face as the venerable Newport Folk Fest rose to new prominence, forming supergroup Middle Brother with Deer Tick's John McCauley, Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes, and Johnny Fritz, AKA Johnny Corndog.

He's happy, proud even, to have devoted himself to the life of an artist and to have found, along the way, his niche and people so as to continue, still growing and learning and evolving with positivity along a path that can, for many, become treacherously mundane.

You can find Matt on tour now.

Look up Matthew Logan Vasquez to get the details, and if you have the chance to catch him in your town, I sincerely suggest you do it.

Tell him we said hi.
