Charles Alexander is now a multi-award winning record producer and studio engineer and professor of music at Berklee College of Music in Boston.

But for a brief period in the first few years of the 1980s, he was the frontman of pioneering synth funk band, Prince Charles and the City Beat Band, who released three albums of gritty urban grooves, many of which featured a highly unusual clarinet and flute synthesizer called a Lyricon.
