Lycopus

So most herbalists are using it in formulas.

And there is a very common triplet used by herbalists as a base for a hyperthyroid-type formula, and that triplet would be the herb Bugleweed, which is Lycopus virginiana, Lemon Balm or Melissa officinalis, and Motherwort, Leonurus cardiaca.

Now this triplet of herbs is, uh, interestingly all mint family plants.

And in fact, it's been shown that most mint family plants tend to have a mildly suppressin' effect on the thyroid.

Uh, well, Lemon Balm's not bitter at all, but Motherwort is quite bitter, quite cooling, nicely sedative.

Rela- not really sedative, but more relaxant for especially that c- as a cardiac nervine.

Very good for the nervous system symptoms of hyperthyroid, um, as well as Lycopus.

Lycopus is very, very good and, and many argue that Lycopus is probably the best of the herbs, uh, b- to address hyperthyroid patterns.
