Luke Darcy

Just if you missed it in the first hour.

This is the tightest players ever to play the game, according to Luke Darcy, Chairman of Slackers and Chief, who's his backup.

Troy Luft, Daniel Merritt, Jared Crouch.

We will accept protests and we'll deal with them as we do this.

This is more so.

But you were doing the show out of Brisbane one morning when we were doing the hot breakfast with Eddie McGuire and Luke Darcy.

Sarah Fayor, our producer at the time, had to send a photo with specific instructions.

Plenty of butter and just a smear of Vegemite.

I come back in.

My second game of footy ever for Essendon, we're playing Western Bulldogs, Scott Wynde, Luke Darcy were my opponents.

I got my first Brownlow vote.

So that was the trajectory for me.

He also then had four days with Jordan Ott, the head coach of the Phoenix Suns.

Ott and McWalter have struck a relationship through Luke Darcy's Connection Group, a leader I think it's called, which sees business people, coaches and high performers connect globally to collaborate and improve their respective leadership positions.

And it's not the first time that we've seen a coach head overseas to try and improve their techniques, get an understanding of Some of the other successful people in similar positions in global sports.

Sam Mitchell's done something similar, particularly when Ange Postacoglu was at Tottenham.

So we don't just start that dialogue at certain points in the year.

So we've got, obviously, Bevo, myself, Amit and Luke Darcy, who's our football director on our board, and Sam Power.

So we all meet really regularly.

And, you know, we have very mature, grown-up discussions about where we're heading.

I was involved with a couple with Channel 10.

I think there was a Luke Darcy year where everything was set up at the pub and he was the raging favorite and he was out of business after sort of six rounds.

Wayne Shoss was in hospital

with...

I've spent a bit of time there at a session at the pub or two.

Good pub, isn't it? Yeah, Luke Darcy's dad, Dave Darcy, used to own it back in the day.

He was a very astute man.

All right.
