I don't even know how many that is, but it's over a full team.
M

I mean, are you sure you're not just reading out a starting 11 from one of their games?

I don't see how this squad is going to get what they're going with.
A
46:01AlexHOST
Losing Brooke Smith, I think, is a bit of an annoying loss for them, not necessarily devastating.
A
46:07AlexHOST
I think Corbin Piper is going to have a really good year as the starting striker for this team.
A
46:12AlexHOST
In terms of other players that I expect to have big seasons, I honestly don't really think there's going to be too much in terms of standout players for the Phoenix this year.

Franco Ume, we haven't seen anything of him really, have we? But he looked big and quick and dangerous, what little burst we saw of him.
M
2:07Mick RobertsonHOST
There's the terrible injury to Brooke Smith, which we were talking about yesterday.
M
2:10Mick RobertsonHOST
Mark Kosnovski, of course, won't be available this year, as far as we know.
M
2:15Mick RobertsonHOST
And then, as I say, they get themselves round to talking about the young lad Blair, who is looking for a new club, as far as we know.

We have one name to add to the list.
K
67:21KevinHOST
and that is possible but unlikely, Luke Brooke Smith, a newcomer during this period, very young, not selected for the squad, but could be a candidate in the future, Luke Brooke Smith.
K
67:34KevinHOST
I do want to add that we do have Elijah Joost on the list here.
K
67:43KevinHOST
and he does play as a central attacking midfielder so his name will come up in the discussion but we moved him to right attacking midfielder because he appears mostly there and because it kind of fits the narrative better so just Sarpreet Singh uh oh no two players to look at here the first one sarpreet singh uh with new zealand since 2018 he is 26 caps and three goals and is 27 years old currently playing for uh it's called tsc in serbia i'm not really familiar with that club He's been with them since 2025, playing in Serbia, but loaned back to Wellington Phoenix there.

STEVE "ARE WE A REVOLVING DOOR CLUB?"
S
13:11Steve BoneGUEST
So I think he's going to be a very good player.
S
13:13Steve BoneGUEST
But for a player of that age to have that sort of injury and now need surgery which you know you're looking at at least three months out i would think probably possibly a bit more that's half half the season gone for him um great shame as we were talking last week it's such a shame for brooke smith lukebrook smith um out for probably most of the season uh with his ankle um angle dislocation and fracture which I don't know we seem to have a succession at the moment of forward players getting injured I'm sure at one time it was defenders every week which defender was going to get injured that week
M
13:56Mick RobertsonHOST
and now it's the strikers and the wingers
S
13:59Steve BoneGUEST
who are getting it I hope we've had our share of bad luck on that front.
