Lukas Kyle

Let's talk about the supporting cast.

The article brings up Avi Nash's character, Lukas Kyle.

Right.

In the books, Lukas is important, but his internal motivations are something we have access to via the author's prose.

Right.

Right. On screen, if a character isn't actively demonstrating an emotion, it basically doesn't exist.

So to make Lukas Kyle sympathetic and complex for a viewing audience, they had to give him active external conflicts.

They had to complicate his loyalties in ways that might stray from the literal text but honor the spirit of his character's function in the story.

trouble.Yeah.

But then, so that means that Lukas Kyle has escaped from Camille's people.

Again, like, she just can't, she cannot contain things, um, as well as I think she would like.

And so he's with the outsiders now.
