Lucy Tan

The comp I saw, and I don't even know where I saw it, and I'm just transporting it into Edelweiss, but it's the Talented Mr. Ripley set in the tech world.

It's called Tiger's Mouth by Lucy Tan, also November 24th from Random House.

Okay.

Jack Chen is the oldest son of caterers from Queens and he becomes friends with a rich kid named Jack Owens, the depressed son of the company's billionaire founder.

If you're looking for a fun, flirty romance with basketball, queer representation, and plenty of romantic complications, this one sounds like a good time.

The final book on my list this month that you should check out is Tiger's Mouth by Lucy Tan.

This is a novel about friendship, ambition, privilege, and the complicated relationships that develop when two people want very different things from life.

The story begins at a technology company where two young men meet during a summer internship.

Yeah, I know.

I went and stayed with a friend recently, fellow writer friend, Lucy Tan.

And she's stressed about like, okay, what do you need for the coffee situation? Terrorized my friends and family.

But yeah, it is the only thing I need to write, but it is an important thing.

Yes.

The novel that we're talking about is Tiger's Mouth, written by Lucy Tan.

And this book hasn't even been released yet.

So this is the early announcement about this book.

And this rubbing elbows with Jack Owens and having a very affluent girlfriend who's not just affluent, but her family comes from Chinese royalty.

He wants to be of that class.

I thought that Lucy Tan, the author, sets up his desire really well.

We really understand who he is, where he's come from, and where he wants to go.
