So I just heard that Lucy Dacus is reissuing her debut album *No Burden for its 10th anniversary.

How cool is that?

Right, and she's kicking it off with a new song, No Thank You, I Love You, Goodbye.

They've done...

Just Lucy Dacus stuff, like really good stuff.

And we were thinking of what to do.

And I was like, I have this chorus.

here i mean one of the key producers is jack antonoff um hardly know her It's actually pretty good, didn't mind that one.

But for a bunch of her songs, Phoebe Bridges writes with the likes of Maya Hawke, Julian Baker, Lucy Dacus.

She also writes weirdly with like Bo Burnham of Vine fame for songs like I Can't Wait, As Above, Lost Weekend Reprise, Best Dressed, which is a CD vinyl bonus track.

Really cool to see so many different collaborators on the album.

Three of them are billed as un-unplugged, full band versions of songs from the record.

One has an assist from Lucy Dacus.

Another has an assist from August Pontier.

And there's a track originally written for and with Maren Morris that's been knocking me out, called This Is How A Woman Leaves.

But here she's saying, um, that Tim McGraw established a pattern of detail, and that something that people bring up to her a lot about her work is that she writes in detail.

And she says, "It's important to determine that the details have to have a significance to the story at hand." That also [laughs] reminded me of, like, the Lucy Dacus school of songwriting, which is like, ♪ I went to the corner store ♪ ♪ And I looked at a chocolate bar ♪ ♪ And the chocolate bar had red lettering ♪ Like, too much.

Too much is not always necessary.

It has to have a significance to the story.

It's really interesting sometimes to hear her talking about songwriting to this extent because, like, she has so many...

Like, she's, like, friends with Lucy Dacus, and, like, she, you know, she's friends with Gracie Abrams.

So it's like, when you engage with their work, are you thinking these things secretly?

She must be.
