Luck Be a Lady

Another thing, and you don't want to put this pretentiously, because it's such a delightful show, But Sky has what we call in the Academy moral growth in the course of the show.

The Sky who we meet at the beginning, who's simply a gambler, is different from the Sky who sings Luck Be a Lady.

Because Luck Be a Lady, which to my mind is maybe the single best number in the single best musical, is about, he's actually vulnerable and insecure, right? He's singing, and people don't always see how complicated and rich that lyric is, right? It's the idea is that It's a reflection of his relationship with Sarah.

He's saying, I can't, can I rely on this? Is this just going to be luck, right? So he's singing directly to luck as a woman who is the woman who he's in love with.

It's a really complicated song with a very rich subtext.

Of course, I'm going to double down on it.

But it goes right from there into a 12-minute scene.

Right from there, into Luck Be a Lady.

That's not in the games, but that was during the flashback of Cooper Howard in pre-war Las Vegas.

We had Luck Be a Lady, which is not in the New Vegas soundtrack.

I feel like Luck Be a Lady has to be played in one of the

games,

but I don't know that it is.

And it's beyond cringe.

And he's just like, luck be a lady tonight.

Because he's singing jazz songs but Broadway.

Luck be a lady too.
