Two people involved in the Ebola response were reportedly killed in Lubero on September 27th and 28th.

Marie-Célestin Carondwa, a local official with Congo's ruling Union for Democracy and Social Progress Party, was attacked Sunday at his home in Butembo, an Ebola hotspot in the eastern North Kivu province, after defending the government's response efforts during a radio program, the party said.

A man goes on the radio, tells people to wash their hands and keep their distance, and he's beaten and his house is burned.

Putembo, which is a city of 2 million people, mainly where we were working, down to Lubero and going even further south to Goma.

So there's hundreds of thousands of people that use that road.

It's mostly a dirt road, kind of that orange clay African road that you see with motorcyclists in the rainy season, huge amounts of trucks, all kinds of trade happening.
