LP

You may know Coyle from his work with The Cheven, his solo records, or from songs he's written with and for other artists.

Over the years, he's collaborated with writers and artists including Linda Perry, Amy Allen, LP, and Mac Davis, and his songwriting has even found its way to BTS.

During the conversation, Coyle and I spent a lot of time talking about Out of This Town, a collection of songs he wrote with Mac Davis nearly a decade ago that eventually found its home on Sun Records.

We talk about what Mac taught him about the craft of songwriting, Coyle's obsession with melody, his approach to singing and recording, and why sincerity remains so important to him as both a writer and performer.

And then, um, and then lots of, you know, other just fantastic songwriters, um, w- and artists within the, within, you know, music, like Amy Allen, who's absolutely slayed it and written almost every pop song seemingly in the last couple of years, and LP and, and, um, yeah, I mean, it just, the, the list is, is endless of like really amazing producers and songwriters that I've been fortunate enough to, to write with and work with.

And, um, and yeah, you just, I feel like you just take a little bit from everybody, and you give a little bit to them, and, and that's, that's the joy of collaboration, right? And you sort of keep-

I was thinking Run the Jewels LP.
