Love Story

The night itself deserves a mention because it was a genuinely historic occasion beyond the joke.

Brad Paisley inducted Swift into the Hall of Fame, and Laini Wilson performed Love Story at the gala.

Swift, at 36, became the youngest artist inductee, a milestone that reflects not just her commercial success, but her standing among songwriters themselves.

The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame is an honor voted on by people who understand the craft, and Swift's induction is a recognition of two decades of writing songs that have defined pop culture.

Taylor Swift was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, which is different from the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

She was introduced by Brad Paisley and Lainey Wilson, who also performed an acoustic version of Love Story, which was fun.

Did this news cross your desk? Were you paying attention to any of this?

Yes, because I'm always paying attention to Taylor Swift stuff, but it made me think that you and I need to create an award and we might get her to show up.

Another one that really shocked me.

I thought that I was going out on a bit of a limb for arguing for You Belong With Me.

Above Love Story.

And then I got a few people saying Love Story is just not that great.

Now, before Taylor came on stage to accept the award, Brad was introducing her, but he was also introducing Lainey Wilson.

So Lainey came on stage first before Taylor and performed a tribute to for Taylor to the song Love Story.

She gave a very country, bluegrass rendition of Love Story that was really, really fun to hear.

And you might remember that just a couple months ago, honestly, in the Taylor Cinematic Universe, it seems like so long ago now, back in June, the was also Tight End University, where Lainey Wilson was one of the performers at the concert for Tight End U, and she brought out Taylor to sing Love Story.

They did a duet on the stage.

It ended up being Taylor's last performance before a couple weeks later, Taylor and Travis would get married, where she allegedly also walked down the aisle to Love Story.

So...

How cool that a couple months later, Lainey Wilson is performing Love Story again, this time at the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, right before Taylor Swift gets inducted into it.

At 36 years old, Taylor has officially become the youngest person ever inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.

She was inducted by her old tourmate, Brad Paisley, and she was serenaded by country superstar Laini Wilson, who did a stripped-back cover of Love Story.

In true Taylor fashion, when she took to the stage to give her speech, she poked fun at Brad Paisley for a vicious tour prank from back in 2007, revealing he once filled her entire tour bus with thousands of live crickets.

Taylor joked, "'For months, I couldn't sleep.

And

it's our Love Island edition, and we're going to start with Love Story by Taylor Swift.

I'll be waiting.

All that's left to do

is run.

You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess.

It's a love story.

Baby, just say- Yes!

in for the win.

What do you got? Love Story, Taylor Swift.

Eddie, I have Love Story.

I have.

What do I have there?

Looks like Love Song.

It's Love Story.

What do you have?

girls in my generation, I grew up loving Taylor Swift.

And so I like I remember like swinging on the swings with my friends in preschool singing Love Story.

And I think like watching Taylor talk about her songwriting, that was the first time I even knew songwriting was an option.

Like I just thought songs kind of like appeared, you know, because when you're a kid, you don't.

Scorn.

And then we transition into our Fearless, which is Love Story.

Okay.

Because also-

Mm-hmm

... on the Fearless podcast, I said that is, like, that is one of her most kind of unanimous smash hits.

You could be anybody in the club, a Love Story remix is going down, and it's people are twerking.

It's-
