Love My Way

In 1982, the band recorded their next album, Forever Now, with producer Todd Rundgren.

The single Love My Way charted in both the US and the UK.

And their next album, Mirror Moves, in 1984, which features our Halloween-themed song for today, The Ghost in You, came out, and it was written by both Richard and Tim Butler.

hereSo do you remember when MTV could take a British new wave band, throw a dreamy video on the screen, and suddenly America cared? That's what happened with the Psychedelic Furs and Love My Way.

Richard Butler wrote it as a message to people struggling with their sexuality, and that hypnotic marimba, Todd Rundgren just happened to have one sitting in his studio and thought, "Eh, why not?" Turns out, genius.

Then MTV put the song into pop culture orbit from Valley Girl, to The Wedding Singer, to Call Me By Your Name.

'80s music was weird, and somehow we miss it.

Coolidge was listening to K-Rock when she heard a song she felt captured Julie and Randy's romance.

She recalled, When I heard this song, I just said, That's it.

Might be a carbon copy of Motown, but the song is great, as is the video, and launches Phil into the stratosphere.

So that, that whole memory comes to mind whenever you hear Love My Way by the Psychedelic Furs.

Actually, she left in 1974.

Unable to find the words to dissolve the partnership, she sat Porter down in his office and sang him a new song that she had just written on acoustic guitar called I Will Always Love You.

And though their split ended up sparking a multi-million dollar breach of contract lawsuit that was filed by Porter in the late 1970s, the two eventually reconciled later in life.
