Uh, and, and, a, a, f- a guy who was doing Young Life in, uh, Texas just started feeding me books and I started reading them and he said, "You're, you know, you shouldn't like these that much unless you are called to ministry somehow." And so he had given me Louis Berkhof.

I'd read a bunch of it and asked him a whole bunch of questions.

And after about f- four or five years, uh, I met Shar, and the people in the congregation, especially the elders, they said, "Lane, you need to go to a seminary and study and pursue ministry." And when they told me what a seminary was-

It's not too high.

It's not too low.

And it has study questions.

It's well outlined.

Great definitions, just like Berkhoff's Systematic Theology.

In the East, my experience would be like I would be told to read a life of a saint, and I would read the story, and it would compel me the way all of my books did growing up.

So when I learned about sin, it wasn't from Berkhof and all that stuff.

It was truly from, um, a picture of Dorian Gray.
