Connor, Fitz is probably the only person in history who could have been a player at Notre Dame, wound up at Northwestern, could have been the coach of the Fighting Irish, but he is undefeated against Notre Dame and with wins in Notre Dame Stadium, incredible wins.

As a player and as a coach, people might remember 1995 when Northwestern mammoth underdog went in and beat Lou Holtz 17 to 15.

The next week they went home and lost to Miami of Ohio and then ran the table in the Big Ten and wound up in Pasadena, the only loss being to a Mac team.

And very few of them, Connor, would remember 2014.

He didn't – employ as strong a staff as he had, and it did him in.

A Lou Holtz coach team was, I feel like, way different then.

So to put it in perspective, Notre Dame, when I played, was like modern-day Alabama.

As far as the talent that they had and the guys that they were putting in the NFL, And they're a coach.

And you know, my dad, my uncle, they grew up.

During the Lou Holtz era, they idolized Lou.

So the fact that that Notre Dame team would then beat Florida State, it brings flashbacks back to the 93 games.

So that was a huge deal for them, and therefore it was a huge deal to me at the time.

I mean, LeFleur went

full Lou Holtz plus this week.

I mean, praising the Seahawks defense is the greatest defense there is.

And they're unbelievable.

From Lou Holtz, Thunder and Bolts, I wonder how much has Rudolph's recruiting success delayed more accountability for the performance deficiencies? I think

that's definitely part of it.

I also think Marcus Freeman, one of the truest things Marcus Freeman's ever said is, I'm not an O-line expert, and I don't think he, this is going to sound real disrespectful, I don't think he's comfortable enough with his own knowledge to be able to watch the offensive line and say, hey, Joe Rudolph's the problem.

Okay, you look at it, and I walked out to practice, and George Quarles kind of sees me coming, and he goes, sorry about what's going to happen Friday night.

You know, and I'm like, okay, Lou Holtz, thanks.

You know, if you turn into a poor mouther in the tears you were going.

And he said, Mark, I got 31 kids out here.

Tyler says that I'm sandbagging all the time.

Josh Ward used to call me Lou Holtz because Lou Holtz would always talk about how his team was going to get beat by 50, and then they'd just wear out Rice by 60 points.

I want to see this fixed.
