Lote Tuqiri

I'm trying to find a better one than that.

Uh, Lote Tuqiri, who we had on the show last night actually, uh, he was Broncos 2000 and Rabbitohs 2014.

So he goes past Lote.

Uh, Luke Lewis from the Panthers 2003 and Sharks 2016.

Well, that's what happened to, um...

I saw a video this morning of Tuqiri.

Remember from-

Yeah

Brilliant, man.

He's looking like a bloody prime Wendell Sailor, Lote Tuqiri, you know? He's huge and athletic and playing the house down there in that system, so what a reward, eh?

Yeah, he just, he needed to score some more tries though, mate, 'cause we both had him as our predicted leading try scorer.

He didn't help us out.

Um, mate, b- before we get to that, I've got a couple of comments to make.

Mate, go- going back to that, uh, 2000 prelim final, mate, I'm sure in retrospect Luke Phillips probably wishes that the Roosters lost that game, particularly after he had Lote Tuqiri and Wendell Sailor running at him for the [chuckles] entire grand final.

But I, I remember g- I was at that game, and Luke Phillips' performance is, mate, one of the great unheralded grand final performances.

They, they lost pretty comfortably to the Chooks, but mate, he was incredible that day.

David Lyons, some really, really class players from that era.

Um, Lote Tuqiri, Wendell Sailor, Leagies who came across.

So I had a, a wonderful introduction to, um, Australian rugby as well, um, before I was headhunted to go to Irish rugby.

Um, and then I spent 10 years up there, and s- in 16 we- months of that, I, I helped coach the, um, Ulster team and lived in Belfast.
