Three people from the Bay Area died that day.

Todd Beamer and Mark Bingham of Los Gatos were passengers on United Airlines Flight 93 who fought back against hijackers, keeping the plane from being used as a weapon.

And flight attendant Betty Ong of San Francisco was working on board American Airlines Flight 11.

Her brother Harry says she was able to relay information about the hijackers before the plane struck the World Trade Center.

Mark Bingham was a UC Berkeley grad and a rugby player, champion really, and his fellow Los Gatos high graduate Todd Beamer joined Tom Burnett from San Ramon and San Mateo's Jeremy Glick to storm the cockpit to stop the hijackers.

It's believed they wanted to fly the plane into the U.S. Capitol or the White House.

and they stopped them.

Our city has a direct connection to the September 11th attacks and the people who stepped up in the aftermath.

Now, we know that three people here from the Bay Area died in the attacks.

We know Todd Beamer and Mark Bingham of Los Gatos were passengers on United Airlines Flight 93.

And Flight Attendant Betty Ong of San Francisco was working on board American Airlines Flight 93.

We also do very well there.

So two years after Palo Alto, then we opened Los Gatos, which is by-- right by San Jose, kind of like a very wealthy area as well.

And then we opened in that location, Los Gatos.

Kind of made us realize that a lot of people, you know, 'cause we've never been in big cities, right? I never believed in being in big cities.

Like you're not gonna find us in San Francisco or San Jose or even Los Angeles downtown.

We always go to the little suburbs because kind of like people values a lot your concept.

You know, when we opened Walnut Creek, one of the main topics and main questions that we were receiving is like, "How come you're from Barcelona to Walnut Creek?" Right? "What, what brought you to Walnut Creek?" Or, "What brought you to Palo Alto, to Los Gatos?" Right? Back then.

So Los Gatos, for example, is another top performer.
