They reckoned in those days that 10 to $15 was, uh, overpriced, even for an event such as that.

Uh, quote, "Fans weren't used to traveling to neutral sites." But 65 million people watched on television.

Not, not to forget trumpeter Al Hirt, who also performed.

There were two men in jetpacks zooming around the place.

Oh, well LA Coliseum jetpacks, 1984 opening ceremony.

And the, the coup de grâce-

So, you know, Sunday was expected you know he he's not new to this he's a he's a vet you know he has this experience of playing in his league so uh you know him just going out there and just dialing it up being poised and uh you know just controlling the offense it was definitely needed in that situation

Easy to forget, he was the odds-on favorite to win MVP in 2017 before diving into the end zone against the Rams at the Coliseum and getting the torn ACL, which opened the door for Nick Foles to lead the Eagles to the Super Bowl championship, but they may have won it with Carson Wentz that year.

He was definitely a special player back then, and he's having a little bit of a resurgence now, nine years later.

It's really amazing when you think about it, nine years later, here he is.

So they've never lost to Purdue.

They have tied them twice, but it's been, what, 46 years? In fact, UCLA's still playing at the Coliseum the last time they played Purdue.

But for two schools that are so interwoven for what – Their most proud athletic program is in basketball at each school.

The John Wooden Bowl will take place on Saturday night at 8 p.m. Yeah.

Mud races upset people.

So look, that stadium in Columbus was not the LA Coliseum.

There's no doubt about that.

But if it wasn't a mud race, I don't know how bad it would have been.

And we're going to just kind of see how it goes.

And we go out the first game, we played the Chargers in the Coliseum.

I remember it was 105 degrees in the Coliseum, but we played well.

I caught my only pass in my NFL career that day.

Marcus Allen threw it to me on a quarterback throwback, you know, and I made an unbelievable catch on the sideline.

I get that they want to kick off the new stadium on a special day.

But they should have done it on Sunday because this game would have been similar to the Chiefs-Rams game in the Coliseum.

That would have been a Super Bowl preview.

Prime time in the Coliseum.

One thing that's interesting that I can't say this is an independent thought I've had, but I hear people talk about it.

It's like essentially like Dan Lanning, like you were talking about with the coordinators, just like replaced in-house and just with his own guys.

An Elvis impersonator walked out with Dan Mullins and UNLV only to have them lose to Memphis.

I mean, Fresno last week in their home opener, a big bounce back win over Sac State after their abysmal performance at the Coliseum, came out behind a fiery tractor during a Latino music performance.

And they had better attendance than USC and UCLA in their home game than the USC and UCLA did in theirs.

And they played Sacramento State.
