And he meets this guy in Christopher Lee as Lord Summerisle, who essentially admits to him, like, "Look, I don't, I don't actually believe this per se, but it keeps the villagers happy.

It's the thing that they believe.

My, my, my ancestors came here and settled this island, and they knew it and I know it, so we just keep the ritual going because that is what makes everyone compliant." So it is, it is, like, this amazing thing of, like, well, who's, who's actually worshiping the false god here? Like, what's-

Um, and it's funny because around the time that I saw this movie, I had a conversation with my grandfather and I asked him, you know, "Do you believe that this stuff is real? Do you believe in, like, the mysticism and the, the laws?" And he told me, "You know, it saved my family to, like, go together into this, and that's what's important to me." And I, I respected him for that answer.

It made me feel like an adult, you know, that, that he would trust me with something like that.

Um, and then to turn around and see Lord Summerisle echo it in such a cynical way, um, that was really impactful for me.

You know? It, it, it showed me that not believing could be both sincere and sort of a cynical ploy.

So we open on a biplane heading to the tiny island of Summer Isle.

So it's off the coast of Scotland, and it's piloted by our protagonist, Police Sergeant Neil Howey, who everyone refers to as Howey, so I keep thinking that's his first name.

Okay.

And, like, they're all, like, writhing on each other.

And so Willow gets him dinner.

And he notices that Summer Isle is known in Scotland for their produce.

That's, like, sort of their thing.

But...

the symbol of the egg the woman holding again it's like she sat in the graveyard hoping that the spirit of the dead will like go into this egg and then like the fertility and the cycle begins again so it's it's very strange very strange shot we also missed the bit where when he first goes to meet or maybe it's the second no it's definitely the first time he meets lord summer isle he passes like a stone circle and there's like a big group of women who are just dancing naked around Oh, yeah.

And singing.

And he is just kind of horrified.

Yeah, who was grinding on Brett Eklund.

Yeah, that.

So he is in the horse and then... um lord summers summer isle he is they call it they call this character the man woman which is like very

androgynous yes

And I believe that it's come down to the fact that we've really allowed these pagan principles to take root in modern society and culture at large as well.

And so I just think it's important because we will very soon witness for ourselves in terms of a few different videos of Christopher Lee, who was the lead character in the film, at least Lord Summerisle.

Obviously, he's not the main lead, but he's essentially the second lead and is the main antagonist of the film.

There's an old church too, which is kind of significant, I think, so far as thematic, what's going on.

It clearly was in the past a religious town of some sorts, but it's been taken over.

There's like an elite individual there that Christopher Lee plays, who is kind of like the Lord, Lord Summerisle.

Uh, and so from there, Howie is the detective.

And I believe that it's come down to the fact that we've really allowed these pagan principles to take root in modern society and culture at large as well.

And so I just think it's important because we will very soon witness for ourselves in terms of a few different videos of Christopher Lee, who was the lead character in the film, at least Lord Summerisle.

Lee eventually escaped that shadow spectacularly.

He would play Lord Summerisle in The Wicker Man, which is another bonkers movie, and it's much better than the Nicolas Cage one, which is absolutely atrocious.

He also played Scaramanga in James Bond, The Man with the Golden Gun, which is one of my favorite Bond movies.

He played Saruman, Count Dooku, and dozens upon dozens of other characters throughout movies.
