And then every single book in, that takes place on Scadrial has been like, "Actually, hemalurgy is more complicated and can do way more shit than you thought it could." Um, and also the thing of, like, this whole mystery of the 11th metal, it does technically help Vin defeat the Lord Ruler, but not for the reasons anyone expected.

Um, I really, I really, really want it so that the spear that they stabbed the Lord Ruler with had something on it, um, either aluminum, which apparently can store identity, uh, from a feruchemy standpoint, or, um, uh, uh, is it malatium? Is that what the 11th metal is? I've lost track, 'cause it doesn't show up in Era 2 at all.

I think it will be frustrating if it's just hand-wavy of like, oh, well, he's buddies with Sazed, so Sazed just brought him back because we all love Kelsier, right? If that's all there is to it, I'm going to be bummed.

If it turns out there was five-dimensional chess, like Lord Ruler getting stabbed with a spear and then immediately stabbing Kelsier with it, if that did somehow transfer some powers and Kelsier was actually a super genius who was thinking ten steps ahead and he knew there was always another secret, I'll be more okay with it.

There's still a lot of work to be done to fully sell me on this.

But it turns out the thing that replaced him, the entity they accidentally released, is a god of pure entropy called Ruin.

Every attempted revolt has failed miserably.

Yet somehow, hope survives.

That word would not be, he would not have allowed, the Lord Ruler would have prevented anyone knowing that word.
