He has been flexing his dual mastery of 60s production techniques and modern dance floor aesthetics for over a decade now through a flowing blend of boogie-laced funk, disco-primed reggae, futuristic soul and timeless African rhythms, reading the Lord Echo page of CrownRuler.com, an independent music agency.

Lord Echo composed the music for nearly all the tracks on the album.

And, um, that kind of, it, it surprised me how into that that I got and then, and sort of how so many of these compositions I was just able to get to, um, through that instrument, you know? 'Cause it, it's a weird thing where I learned guitar when I was, like, 12 And then I got into sort of skateboarding and hip hop and stuff and I just kind of didn't I've always had it there and I've always used it but I don't like it's not like a thing that I do all the time you know but in this for this project I just did it every day you know and I was just like really feeling inspired to do that and really enjoying it.

I think how it worked in the end was I did like a few weeks on my own at my house and I probably made like about 60% of it that way just at my house and really sort of feeling my way around it with my guitar and my modular you know that was kind of the main setup and then Brandon and I went away and for those who don't know Brandon Biharu producer he's co-produced many Lady Six things with me and we work on a lot of things together and yeah so he came and we wrote a whole bunch of new things for the project and I think we made five that ended up on the album those two stints kind of made up the whole album and then the final part of the process was I went to the Eternal Flame studio which is Lord Echo's studio in Patea and he and I and Toby Lang and Ricky Gooch did a week of just kind of overdubbing and making little percussion interludes that all the percussion interludes were done between Toby Ricky and myself and Mike and and that was just like a really fun way to end the recording process was in this like beautiful studio you know Brandon's my best friend and Ricky's my best friend so it was like just so special to have them both on my on my album you know as well as Mike and Toby and and all those guys kind of get all the references and and it was just super it was so I wanted the project to be fun and relaxing and it really was with with them involved yeah You know, there's the intro track, which is called Rintro.

When someone put it on the player and pressed play, I wanted it to start with some real drama, like some real sort of dramatic music that you could easily loop up and put an acapella over and that would fit into a hip hop context as well, you know.
ParksdaleGUEST

And then I wanted the second track to be like contrast completely with that and for it to be this super dreamy, surreal piece, you know.

Those two stints kind of made up the whole album.

And then the final part of the process was I went to the Eternal Flame studio, which is Lord Echo's studio in Patia.

And he and I and Toby Lang and Ricky Gooch did a week of just kind of overdubbing and making little percussion interludes.
ParksdaleSOUNDBITE_SPEAKER

All the percussion interludes were done between Toby, Ricky and myself and Mike and Toby.

i remember there probably would have been like 50 people watching them and they set up in the middle of the hall like in the round it was real mental and then we got to do a couple hours of hanging out with them afterwards, which was, which was nuts.
Paddy HillGUEST

We also had Mike Fabulous come and do it as well.
Paddy HillGUEST
