Lonzo and Oscar

Was your first big-time gig the Osborne Brothers?

No, my very first big-time gig was with Lonzo and Oscar on the Grand Ole Opry.

My brother had got a job.

There was a friend of ours, Mark Rogers from Terre Haute, who ended up getting a job.

playing with Gene Shepard down on the Grand Ole Opry.

And he found out that Lonzo and Oscar were known for mainly their comedy and doing parody songs, which they were great at.

But then they actually kind of wanted to get into bluegrass some.

and do and they also did regular songs too but a lot of their stuff mainly was known as comedy parody songs and mark found out they was wanting the banjo player and they told he told him about grady and grady went down audition got the job and then uh it was about a year and a half later the guy who was playing guitar with him just real short and brief uh Ed Bobbitt, he was playing guitar when he wanted to take a weekend off.
