Long Beach State Beach women's volleyball

I think they're completely golden for the rest of the season because, you know, every other upcoming conference game on their schedule, every other upcoming conference opponent on their schedule has been, they've already played before.

And for the upcoming six teams past UCSB, UCI, UCSD, they swept 3-0, including tied for second at Long Beach.

So...

I don't think it's something that we have to worry about necessarily.

I would say they are largely unproven in the fifth set.

And when you have times, like against Cal Baptist, where they're losing the first set because they just forget how to play volleyball for the first few points just because their defense hasn't kick-started yet.

What's going to happen when they do that again in a later set and then again in the fifth set? They still have to play Long Beach again.

Luckily, they only have to play UC Irvine once.

They won that match as well.

Uh, lost to Long Beach in five as well.

They have a good pin hitter, uh, Paige Lauterwasser, pre-season all-conference averaging al- almost three kills per set.

So again, it, it has basically been what Hawaii has seen so far this season, where a team will have a really good pin and can Hawaii either slow them down or force some of the others to pick up the offensive slack.

Yeah, it's a little bit interesting to see, but moving on to a team that isn't struggling, Cal Poly Volleyball looked super comfortable out there.

They swept Cal State Fullerton at Fullerton on Friday, swept Long Beach State on Saturday at Long Beach, so it was a very successful road trip for the Mustangs.

It's their fifth sweep in the last six Big West matches and their fourth consecutive sweep overall.

They're now 10-6 after a six-game win streak within conference.

Yeah, they've been really strong this year.

And the thing about the Big West this year is that it objectively got weaker because of the loss of Hawaii and UC Davis, who are both top four teams in the Big West last season.

And now Long Beach State and UC Santa Barbara, those are probably two of some of the other teams that are looking to beat the Cal Poly Mustangs in the Big West playoffs this season.

Right now, Cal Poly Volleyball is on a roll, 6-0.
