Lojban

Sometimes it's for artistic purposes, stuff like Klingon and Tolkien's languages Quenya and Sindarin.

And sometimes it's just to try to mold language into some kind of interesting shape, like Lojban or Iskuil.

These are the more engineered ones.

The main thing, though, is that somebody sat down and said, I want to create a language.
