When DRAM went into a shortage back in 2025, Then, you know, it was first, first, they started rerouting stuff over to HBM, and then it kind of stole wafers away from DDR manufacturer.

Jim HandyGUEST
And that was because the guys were buying the DRAM were also buying NAND Flash to go with it.

In the last couple of shows, like 100 terabytes, 200 terabytes a drive, and they were talking about, you know, doubling the layers of NAND and all that stuff, all that sort of fell by the wayside this time.

Now, what's the shortage going to be doing to pricing and availability? In particular, how is that going to affect products that may be less profitable?

Jim HandyGUEST
Chip makers, they owe something to their investors and it's to focus on getting as profitable as they can, but still have a stable business model.

Jim HandyGUEST
And so they do that by managing their business to pockets of profitability, like what you were alluding to there.

Jim HandyGUEST
In the DRAM market with HBM, that for a while was HBM chips, that they were the most profitable thing.

Jim HandyGUEST
And so the manufacturers pushed their production capacity over to HBM and took it away from making normal DDR products.

Is that being affected by everything else that's going on? And likewise, follow-on questions could be more about the kinds of technologies that are being involved.
