Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk

There's probably five or six airplanes that they have that the public doesn't know anything about.

For instance, the F-19, uh, which was built right along on the same sen- assembly line as the F-117A, has been flying around for almost, uh, 12 years now.

Uh, it's a Navy, uh, fighter, uh, with a delta wing planform.

Uh, very, very strange-looking aircraft, and the public doesn't know anything about that.

Yeah, yeah.

Uh, oh, there's one interesting thing here that I wanna say, which is they mention Nighthawk a lot as a call sign.

Now-

Hmm

... that is the... commonly would be known as the F111- uh, the F117 Nighthawk bomber, right? The stealth thing.

Those weren't acknowledged until six months after the film came out.

So I guess-

Uh, or sorry, 1991.

When we went into Iraq the first time, the F117, when that showed up on the battlefield, it changed the landscape for the entire planet.

After that operation, all of our enemies started digging deep holes in the ground because they knew we could hit it with pinpoint accuracy, and they were scared of Rods of God.

Well, guess what the Russians did? The Russians did what the Chinese do.

So before radar, you point a dish at the sky, you're just trying to figure out the algorithm, right? What was in the sky when it was here? What's the data link? What's the satellite? So it gets kind of dangerous on that sort of stuff, especially when we know that they're looking for panels.

That's what they did with the F-117 when it got shot down.

They sent people around to talk to farmers and different equipment to try and find these certain size panels that they knew.

So what I'll say is it is a smaller panel.

I mean, so everybody has a pretty good knowledge that's with us.

Um, and we knew that there can be.

bad news when you get into high-tech aircraft and parts, right? Like that part off the F-117, the coating is technically toxic, right? So you also don't know if this thing is 10,000 degrees, right? You don't know if, you know what I mean? There's all sorts of things.

So we gathered it in a way that we felt was the safest possible way, not just went over and picked it up.

It could do it for all of the LucasArts adventure games before Sam & Max and Day of the Tentacle.

It could do Ultima 6, Wizardry 7, Eye of the Beholder 1 and 2, almost all the Gold Box games, flight sims like Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe, F-117, Aces of the Pacific, strategy games like Masters of Orion, Darklands, and Sierra games up to and including the end of 1992 ran great on a 286-2.

But one thing you'd need to get for a rescued Office 286 that your dad took home from the office rather than put in the bin was to upgrade the ISA slots by putting in upgrade cards.

And back in the day, that would mean something like an Oak VGA card, potentially expensive RAM upgrades and a sound card.

That secrecy comes from Skunk Works' name.

The division previously developed aircraft, including the U-2 spy plane, the SR-71 Blackbird, and the F-117 Nighthawk.

Machines so advanced and concealed that witnesses sometimes report them as UFOs before the public knew they existed.

Dictus isn't proof that anyone recovered reverse engineered or extraterrestrial spacecraft.

They're super faceted.

They look like an F-117.
