twice rather and it's just brutal and then the third time i just said to work this is still a vehicle but i'm not coming home about this evening until she dies i just can't do it yeah and while she was ill uh in the after in the morning she could have the energy for visitors in the afternoon i'd pick her up which is quite a thing for a son you know and carry her downstairs to the to the car and we'd go for a drive through the kent it's called the garden of england it's beautiful loads of thin hedgerow roads little village beautiful and we'd say we'll go somewhere and we'd have those conversations that we only had because she was dying she talked about her really talked about her life and what she was proud of and stuff and she also talked about her hopes and goals and for me you know and they were they were very moving and uh and then we would get to that destination and i'd turn around and she'd be asleep and it was a very very poignant moment for me um and uh And I just thought everybody else might have gone through similar things, right? And it'd be lovely to capture that on film, but that's not a very cinematic experience, two people in a car.

The documentary is created by, written by Steven Knight, the man behind things such as Peaky Blinders, the director of a film called Locke, which I love deeply.
