29:17
So what's changed in that year?
29:19
Well, um, Ms. Peltola was not in the race a year ago, so that is one thing.
29:28
Um, I think, um, as Democrats nationally began to think that they could flip the seat, they started just pouring money into the race.
29:39
So in the last quarter, she raised $17 million, which is a lot for a state as small as Alaska, and that is, uh, amounts to about what, uh, Sullivan has raised the whole campaign if I recall correctly.
29:59
Um, so, you know, money has had an impact, and I think just a, a growing realization among Democrats that this could be a wave election and that the size of that blue wave could, um, you know, better their chances in Alaska.
31:35
What is it like to run a campaign in Alaska? Where do you put the resources? Where do you put your time?
31:43
Yeah.
31:44
You know, most of this state cannot be reached by road.
10:09
Two Dan Sullivans.
10:10
Yeah.
10:11
[laughs] His full name is Daniel J. Sullivan Jr. He's a retired teacher from Petersburg, Alaska.
10:18
Republicans tried to keep him off the ballot, saying this was a trick, but Sullivan, the, the challenger, says he's just tired of a guy with his same name providing representation that he doesn't like, and he wants to provide an alternative.
10:34
He is on the ballot with no party affiliation.
11:56
Tell us about the races to watch there.
11:59
Well, Florida, like Alaska, has no incumbent governor running.
12:03
Ron DeSantis is at his term limit.
9:38
How do you see President Trump playing into all of this?
9:42
Well, uh, as I said, uh, Sullivan gave a big speech to the Alaska Legislature recently, and he said, uh, President Biden's name, former President Biden's name a dozen times, and hardly mentioned Trump at all, maybe two or three times.
9:59
But he has stuck very close to President Trump's positions on everything, rarely votes against him.
10:06
Did one vote on healthcare that was, uh, against President Trump's position, but it was a, uh, a vote that we all knew was going to fail, and it did fail, so it wasn't, you know, all that meaningful of a vote.
10:20
But he seems to be taking great pains to not cross Trump.
10:26
Um, he has Trump's endorsement.
10:30
In some of his campaign literature, um, Trump's head was featured larger than Dan Sullivan's head.
