And we could end up in a very different environment and the biology just figures it out because every experiment that we do seems to indicate that same sort of thing.

My colleague, Mike Levin, has beautiful examples of the way that you just change the environment or change the genome of things, and it just figures it out and says, OK, cool, I'll build this without a problem.

So it is certainly imaginable that you could have a Martian species that we would at some point no longer call the same species

But that's another interesting one.
