actually we are we have recorded a live album and we were going to put it out this year, but we want to do a really big show with the unveiling of it.

But Paige is currently very pregnant.

It could be a refreshing change.

Yeah, plus this live album gives us a glimpse into her current artistry without the pressure.

It's like a bridge between her past and whatever new path she chooses.

My guest this week is guitarist Chris Caffrey, who you'll find as a member of Sabotage and a member of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

This summer, Savatage released the Lost Savatage live album Madness Rains from the Gutter from 1990.

Chris agreed to come on the show while he was waiting out a heat wave in his nice, cool basement studio.

We talked about everything from his home studio and his guitars and memorabilia collection to caring for his mom, a soundtrack to his childhood, songwriting, and everyone from Geddy Lee from Rush to Eddie Van Halen from Van Halen and Freddie Mercury from Queen, the live album, his dog, and so much more.

Chris is part of my every year holiday tradition as a member of the East Coast Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and he's getting ready for another busy holiday season, so I was really happy that he agreed to come on the show.

Live at KOKO, right? It's interesting that he described it as one of the worst to record because of their fatigue.

That's a great point.

It makes me wonder how much of live performance is about capturing the perfect moment versus just the energy.

For sure, and it raises the question of how they create a successful live album.

Is it about the best sound or the atmosphere?

That's a delicate balance.
