Little Man Tate

He's a lawyer or something like that.

Was Charlie Korsmo also in Little Man Tate or am I mixing that up? No, that's that ugly kid with the bland face.

Who was in Little Man Tate? He was also in

Halloween H20.

He looks like the banjo player from Deliverance.

I don't think it's the same guy.

Who was

in Little Man Tate? Talking

Mm

... on her directorial debut, Little Man Tate.

Mm.

And Jodie Foster gave me the greatest three things of, uh, advice ever in a human being.

She's like, "First of all, do you wanna babysit parking cones on the set? Please, be my guest.

Or you could sit at my desk and watch a movie go across it and learn how to make a movie." And then she said also, "Don't be a PA.

Like a PA, if you get stuck as a PA, you're never gonna go anywhere." And my title, if you look it up on Little Man Tate, is not a PA, David Collins, because that's what I was doing.

I was, you know, scrubbing toilets and running errands.

I'm sitting here thinking about it like it's...

I confused it with Little Man Tate.

Hold on.

Let's take a minute.

You see a...

Matilda.

A little man Tate.

You keep bringing that up.

gonna say who else

And then I don't know if he still acts, but Adam Hand Bird starred in Little Man Tate, which is a movie Jodie Foster directed.

Oh, wow.

And he was in like Ang Lee's Ice Storm and a few other things.

Yeah, I suppose a social structure.

Did you see the movie Little Man Tate? It was Jodie Foster.

She had an exceptional kid just like this, like an extraordinary kid.

And he was also a...

She didn't have an actual piano.

She took just paint and she kind of painted keys and he clearly had musical ability and also math and all this stuff.

I mention it because ultimately in the movie, she knows what's best which is to ship him to like a school where there are a lot of really smart kids who excel like him like a lot of extraordinary kids uh and it was like really a painful thing because she's sort of a working class uh mom but i just wondered you know i think there are a lot of tough choices when you've got a kid who's like just crushing it you know he's just a home run hitter when it comes to scholastics

Right, I get that.
