Yeah, it's just not enough.

And the thing is, like, I often, when I'm book coaching, I ask people, okay, so if you go through the Lisa Krohn method or the Story Genius method or whatever method you have, you usually have something at the beginning that your character wants.

For instance, I had this one that I worked on and it was really great because it was like the character at the beginning of the story is a reporter who's gotten fired from her job and she gets this new kind of gross, terrible assignment that she doesn't really want to do, but it's a job, right? But what is the very worst thing that could happen to that poor reporter in that story? if she got fired from that little new job.

So what's the dark moment of the book? She gets fired from the new job because that's the very worst thing that can happen.
