Lisa Coleman

[laughs] All right, let's talk about Little Red Corvette.

It is a song by American recording artist Prince, duh, and backup vocals were performed by Lisa Coleman and Dez Dickerson, who also performs a guitar solo on the song.

So let's get the rundown.

Prince was the lead in backing vocals.

Dez Dickerson was electric guitar solo, backing vocals.

Remember, he was the really good-looking African-American guy that always wore the Japanese flag headband.

And then Lisa Coleman was backing vocals.

It was released back in 1983 as the second single from 1999.

But even before that, um, you know, the, the synth that...

Well, Lisa Coleman played it live.

I'm assuming Prince played it himself on the recording.

But the synth line that kind of, uh, you know, fades in and out, you know, and ebbs and flows-

Ooh.

Now, Prince got the idea for this song when he dozed off in backup singer Lisa Coleman's 1964 Mercury Montclair Marauder after an exhausting all-night recording session.

The lyrics came to him in bits and pieces during this sleep and other cat naps.

Eventually, he was able to finish it without sleeping.
