Today's guest is doing both.

Liran Belenzon is the co-founder and CEO of Benchines, a biomedical AI company that started a decade ago with a very specific, very practical job, teaching a machine to read scientific papers the way a PhD would, so scientists could pick the right reagents, and run better experiments.

From that beginning at the Universities of Toronto Creative Destruction Lab, BenchScience grew into something much larger, a platform for disease biology and preclinical decision making, backed by more than $200 million in funding, working with most of the world's top 20 pharma companies and tens of thousands of scientists.

But the reason I wanted to have this particular conversation now is what Liran had been doing to his own organization.
