Lionel Mpasi

FIFA did not want to admit to themselves, Mr. Infantino, you fraud.

But of course, it's been confirmed that FIFA have now faced significant backlash following reports corroborated by The New York Times and The Athletic that DR Congo were actually allowed to play that World Cup qualifier playoff against Jamaica at the main tournament despite fielding an ineligible player in Lionel Mpasi.

To ma- to, to make matters worse, this Mpasi guy was the guy that saved those penalties from, was it Bassey and Ajayi, in the, in the World Cup qualifier.

Now, Mpasi had previously represented France at youth level but failed to complete the formal FIFA paperwork required to switch international allegiance for playing for DR Congo.

And I must say that Umar Abubakar showed me a lot of good signs in this game, I must say.

We saw Moses Simon take a decent free kick, which was straight at the goalkeeper.

And shortly after, 54th minute, yet again, comical defending, honestly.

Frederick was ball watching.

The ref gave it offside inexplicably, even though Akwadaram's timed his run to perfection.

But delay is not denial.

90th minute, we almost made it 3-3 after Umar Abdullahi had a fantastic shot with the goalkeeper saved.

We even saw the Russia goalkeeper start lying down on the floor, trying to waste time thinking that it's gonna end 3-2.
