Lingcod

I gave it a wide berth on general principle.

Lingcod will bite if you crowd them, and I wasn't here to bleed.

Forty minutes goes fast underwater when the bottom is worth looking at.

I was watching a sunflower sea star move, and they move faster than people expect, which still surprises me every time.

The three I'd seen on the main shelf, gone.

The one I'd given a wide berth to on the approach, gone.

Lingcod don't startle off a rock like baitfish.

They hold.
