Uh, and there's just, there's so, there's so much work, and I'm sure that there's stuff that's not even on the website that hasn't been photographed.

That's why many artists now use services like DistroKid's All Artists metadata input, ensuring every role, engineer, mixer, programmer, is captured consistently across all databases.

Liner notes remain the gold standard for verifying a track's pedigree because they're hard-to-forge printed records that music journalists often cross-reference against digital metadata.

Even when vinyl goes out of production, that paper still sits on a shelf somewhere, proving that the engineer who miked the drums actually earned their credit and should get the corresponding fee.

Collectors and archivists will look for that ink.

I mean, again, I've had so many moments where I've been enjoying something immensely and then looked at the byline or looked at the fact that the duets liner notes was written by you.

And I was like, of course.

Well, that's crazy.

It's called American Liner Notes, where I go over the history of modern songs shamelessly ripped off of old blues musicians by artists who gave them no credit and no royalties.

And for our part, we're not going to pay anyone any money either, since, uh, we're doing an expose on these tunes, and that counts as news reporting and commentary under the American legal system.

I probably read it on the liner notes.

But it was w- part of the joys of coming up and listening to this music in, like, the early '80s and mid-'80s when I was, like, getting into jazz, and I remember having this record, the LP.

And whatever you read on the back is kinda what you read or you're listening, but your, your imagination runs wild.
