Now, Mike, this suit contains very specific allegations of what was happening on the roof before the fire.

Yeah, you know, and it's the first time, Pat, that we are getting allegations from Lineage against the solar power company.

Now Mike, this suit-

Yeah

... of what was happening on the roof before the fire.

But when that building, that lineage cooler, freezer building, refrigerated building in Boyle Heights, when it caught fire, The very first day I said, the problem is the solar roofs and the solar farms on the roofs of these buildings are going to be a major problem.

And they are the cause of this fire, in my untutored opinion.

And now Lineage Logistics is saying the exact same thing, that they got hosed by the people who own that building, wanted to make some more money and put up solar panels, probably way too many on the roof of that building.

They caught fire and they burned the building down and the people in Boyle Heights suffered for two months.

Because of that fire.

And I said, the problem is these solar panels.

And that's Solar Farm.

And it turns out, the people at Lineage agree with me.

We certainly know or can assume, I should say.

That the boss at Lineage didn't take a torch to the business.

This is not an operation that wanted to be shut down.

They had 80 million pounds of food in there.

This is a busy center supplying grocers across the region.

And now Assemblyman Mark Gonzalez has crafted a piece of legislation that would only apply to Lineage.

There are no other cold storage facilities that this would impact.

And so what would happen is, in order to comply with this legislation, were it to be approved, before any building permit can be approved, keep in mind the city, the county, everybody wants to stop the company from rebuilding.

But first, here's the latest news.

Lineage Logistics has completed removal of the food waste inside the Boyle Heights warehouse that burned down in June.

The company and South Coast Air Quality Management District said that yesterday.

Now, Lineage has seven days to remove debris, power wash, and disinfect required areas.

Last week, a LA City Council committee voted to withhold permits to rebuild the warehouse, pending a full investigation by the fire department.

The motion heads to the full city council for consideration.
