yeah absolutely i would say very early on through childhood i started singing when i was nine years old so it's been a long time um and my the very beginnings were with leona lewis Yeah.

People like Mariah Carey.

People like Beyonce.

I was a kid during a certain time with the charts.

So I was listening to all of that.

Of course I had... around me, thank you to my parents, that they are musicians and hugely into music.

It was a songwriting class.

Yeah, we were in a class, like a one-to-one, or rather two-to-one, with our tutor, and at the time we were writing what would become the first EP, The Thing With Feathers.

So we were showcasing what we were working on at the time, and while it was in its infancy, we were experimenting a little bit with, uh, like nature sounds and, uh, sounds that you would find like in an actual scene.

So like there was doors closing and, uh, you know, various sounds that we wanted.

They wanted it to be more immersive.

Uh, we didn't end up going with it in the end, but we did, we did see if we could make it work.

And, uh, in one of the tunes, uh, that we played in this class, there was birdsong over the record and our tutor said, that's really interesting.
