Linda Evans

Um, so we, we absolutely need to pay tribute to Hugh Young and Dr. Alison Laurie.

And Alison was, um, a, a big one, uh, with Linda Evans in the lesbian community radio program.

Um, but Alison and Hugh would do walk tours in the '90s.

Mm.

There are no controls for the board, he said.

Waitress Linda Evans has had direct experiences with the Lady in Red.

"She's always been kind to me, but she doesn't like men," she said.

Evans, uh, tells a tale of horror involving her son and grandson.

What were the standouts for you?

Oh, what was the standouts for me? I really, we, Kawe Mahara did a panel with a few activists who were part of the campaign, Gavin Young, Linda Evans, Dion Jackson and Vernon Tile Vomua.

That was really, really awesome.

I just loved hearing from those people about their experiences.

But also, I guess, with the 40th anniversary, there must be a lot more people saying, oh, actually, I've got some stuff, inverted commas, that you might want.

Has that been happening at all?

Yeah, I think our wonderful curators, Roger Swanson and Linda Evans, have been absolutely snowed under.

I think, yeah, donations of materials, absolutely, but also just heaps of requests from researchers and people who are interested.

Then there are some people that when they get a doctorate, they will rebuke you if you don't call them by Doctor such and such.

"What's your name?" "My name is Doctor Linda Evans." "That is not on your birth certificate." [laughing] If you're not careful, you are overestimating your value because you memorized information for six years.

Wow.

[laughing] That's good.
