Lincoln Alexander

That's right.

Well, I am – here, shall I stand up a little bit? There is one of the coolest dudes that's ever been associated with Ontario politics and his name is Lincoln Alexander.

And I don't mind saying I really loved Link.

Link was a massively historic figure in Canada and in the province of Ontario.

He's the first black cabinet minister in Canadian history.

There is a moment – I still laugh when I think about this.

There is a moment when Lincoln Alexander says something on the floor of the House of Commons to Pierre Trudeau who was the then prime minister and the prime minister looks back at him and mouths – F off.

But he didn't say F.

Um, I had a, I know we're just about out of time here.

Uh, one of my dear friends, uh, Lincoln Alexander, who was a member of parliament, first black member of parliament, by the way, in the Canadian parliament, uh, uh from hamilton and i got to know link when i was still a young guy and we got to know each other and we had different political ideologies and when i say that he was a conservative and i was more of a liberal than minded and he wrote about that in his autobiography you know that i've known bill for so long and says he said the kelly's are probably even liberal since you know the days of you know the first you know settlers in in upper canada well he's probably right but we were always friends and we always had these discussions.

And there was never any hateful words.

In other words, there are going to be points where we're going to say, you know what, maybe we should go this way.
