And today I have a question for you.

If someone offered you a pill that could unlock your full potential, would you take it? If you've ever seen the movie Limitless, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

In the movie, Bradley Cooper plays a struggling writer who is given an experimental pill that suddenly allows him to access every corner of his brain.

Overnight, he becomes brilliant.

He learns languages, masters finance, remembers everything that he's ever read.

And his life changes almost instantly.

It's a fascinating idea.

And I think that's why the movie resonates with so many people.

Limitless with Bradley Cooper plays with the same unlocked brain premise, but keeps it grounded in ambition and greed rather than going cosmic.

The two films make a fascinating double bill because they take the exact same idea in opposite directions.

Transcendence came out the same year and pairs nicely too.

And in the movie, Scarlett Johansson, she gets like drugged, uh, with this, with this drug that causes her to use more than 10% of her brain, and she suddenly becomes this superhuman.

And it's basically the exact same movie as, or the movie plot as the movie Limitless with Bradley Cooper.

Literally same thing.

Bradley takes a drug that allows him to use 100% of his brain.

And it created a lot of these, what our modern-day equivalent would be clickbait articles in newspapers.

And it became very popular and then forgotten.

And then there was a resurgence of the idea with those movies, Limitless and Lucy.

Is that true? Do we only use 10% of our brain? No.

thinking Limitless.

We were talking about Limitless with Stevie earlier.

Perfect storm.

I know.

There, there are moments in Sucker Punch where we're going multiple layers deep in realities and it just says, "Hey, figure it out on your own," and I appreciate that, and Nolan does not do that in Inception.

I forgot that, uh, Lindy is the romantic lead in Limitless.

I mean, it was, it was like-

Limitless is good.

I like Limitless.

Like, when I'm on that top form, I love that version of me.

I feel like fucking Bradley Cooper when he's took that drug in Limitless.

[laughs] Yeah.

I feel like him.

Um, based on the research that's out there so far, there doesn't seem to be some kind of a benefit that makes them just better at everything.

Um, the second thing is we know if you look at reports from people with highly auto- superior autobiographical memory, it's not like they're like Bradley Cooper on Limitless.

They're not, like, uh, controlling the world.

They're not any more happy or successful than other people as far as we can tell.

When priorities aren't clear, almost everything can appear to be important.

If you've ever seen the movie Limitless with Bradley Cooper, sleep and clarity of purpose and movement is probably the closest thing that we have to a limitless pill.

And if there was a limitless pill and there were no extreme side effects, most people working today would take it.

But just like we would take a limitless pill, we would need to take the time to prepare rituals that give us the closest thing to a limitless pill with no side effects that we have today.
