Turns out Xavier returns.

He was, you know, he was being healed by Lillandra with the Shi'ar Empire.

And he comes back and ultimately the Earth is saved from a collapsing asteroid planetoid threat, but the planet's fractured and the X-Men are violently scattered through time and space.

Yeah, like, so basically with Rogue and Gambit, their treasure romance defines them much of the emotional core, as well as Cyclops and Madeline Pryor.

Back in Westchester, Jean, who believes the X-Men are dead, leaves the mansion for good.

Lalandra takes care of a despondent Charles Xavier by herself, and he tells her a story from his past.

Charles fell in love with Moira MacTaggart while he was working on his doctorate, but then he was drafted into the Korean War.

She left him while he was gone, so he stayed abroad, traveling the world.

They fight a psychic battle, which Xavier wins, killing Farouk and dooming him to infinite, never-ending agony of the mind.

Rough stuff.

Lalandra ignores all of that and tells him he should go

with her to join her space empire.

One thing with Professor is there's so many stories where he is... standing again he's in Krakoa he's a big part of it there's a big part where he has a love interest with Lalandra so if you ever want to do the Shi'ar you need someone who's not like 60 years old you can still be believable has a um can have a love life like that basically how

old is he supposed to be in like the Stanley stuff

I'm not sure to be honest I don't know if they ever datum and it's hard to tell because he is bald because there's no like gray in his hair I'm gonna guess it's somewhere around those 40s 50s

You have the Shi'ar You have Onslaught and you have Cassandra Nova.

Bring in Lilandra.

Give him that love interest with Lilandra.

You can give Moira too.

If they do Moira, she's gotta be Moira X. That's-- I'm sorry.

In the Cyclades Islands, is that how you say that? Cyclades? Cyclades? It sounds right to me.

In the Cyclades Islands near Greece, Xavier and Lalandra vacation together.

Lalandra frets over what she'll do when she has to return to the Empire, and Xavier struggles to locate the X-Men psychically, but he can't find them.

In a truly unpredictable callback to the flashback where they said she was fully aware at infancy.

Do you remember that? Storm was way better than the others at being six months old.

And so in doing this, he convinces them not to execute Reed.

But lo and behold, enters the Londra in the Shi'ar who demand the death of Reed Richards.

And that's kind of how it ends.

And I think I really like this.

And so I like this whole premise that they're on trial.

I like that when you think it's all over, it's not because the Shi'ar have showed up.

Though, I mean, Lalandra kind of, I thought, was with Xavier right now.

Like, she hadn't went off planet, although she's talked about it.

And they're basically just talking about how like...

Okay, so Lalandra...

Because there's a thing...

I can't figure out what the timeline is.

Which feels like it must be that because Gladiator and all of them are following her.

Right.

But the way that the X-Men are talking about Lalandra is very much like she's...

the authority of the Empire right now.

That's perfect.

Lalandra gives the greys what she calls a holo-empathic matrix that includes a three-dimensional image of Jean, but also gives off the essence of her personality.

So, after we roasted the child's orb a couple of weeks ago, sitting on Lalandra's dressing table during the Dark Phoenix saga...

We didn't know what it was.

John Grey not understanding what this gift is or how to receive it is valid because it's weird as hell.

Oh, we gotta work that out.

How many holidays did he go on? Because after the Phoenix stuff, he

went on more than one holiday, right? Yeah, he went to the Greek islands with Lalandra, then he went to space with Lalandra, and then he came back from space.

We're coming up on X-Men 104, which is them fighting Magneto on Muir Island.

Eric the Red and Lalandra are showing up.

Beast is over with the Avengers and Iceman and Angel are with the champions.

And Captain Britain's putting out weekly features over in the UK.

So the X-Men have been captured by Deathbird, but they manage to escape and take out those who control her ship.

They are also joined suddenly by the Starjammers, who board the ship, and they too are joined by Lalandra, and a disguised Charles Xavier, who reveals himself after they succeed in defeating Deathbird.

As the X-Men celebrate Lalandra's reclaiming of her empire, Gambit and Jubilee happen to notice that Xavier is not acting right.

One might almost say that he's acting a bit evil.

Well, back on Earth, Rogue Magneto and Nick Fury plan to infiltrate Zaladane's fortress to take her out, but one of the Russian troops attached to the UN forces being led by Fury betrays the group to try to kill Magneto as revenge for killing his son when Magneto sank that Soviet submarine all those years ago.

She takes her somewhere else where something had been destroyed by Xavier, and that shows that something is clearly wrong with Xavier, right? This is not the Xavier that we all know.

We see back on the Shi'ar homeworld that a group of aliens, who I think are Skrulls, but I don't remember, they've infiltrated Lalandra's inner circle, and they're replacing people closest to her.
