Light My Way

The second half has its moments.

I think I like Exploder and Light My Way.

It's got a couple of slower ballads towards the end, so there is a little bit of loss of interest as the record progresses.

But I thought they hit hit on something here.

Like Matt said, they're not... they're not doing something new and then i think vocally or lyrically they're not doing anything really interesting um that being said i i do find this album very um i think it is a really solid fun album to listen to and i really liked revisiting a lot of the singles and and songs on here like a stone i think is an all-time great kind of rock song i like kind of the melancholy sound of it.

I like Cornell belting on Shadow on the Sun, how he belts out the title of the song in the chorus.

And like you said, it opens great with Cochise and Show Me How to Live and Gasoline and I even um like I am the highway which is a ballad and that was another single I do think at times during this I hear things that sound exactly like rage guitar riffs like I noted that on set it off and light my way there's like certain things that when Tamarillo plays a guitar it's like almost beat for beat like the same thing he played on a rage song um I didn't like go and find but I just found that over and over again it kind of sounded too similar so they're again they're not like kind of reinventing or doing something new so I guess my point is I did like this album but there's something it's not going to become like my new favorite band or like this is the next iteration of both of those other bands and it's somehow like even better than those two because that's just not possible so it's a thumbs up for me but yeah

Pitchfork gave it a 1.7 out of 10, and Stylus gave it an F, and I'm like, really? That seems overly harsh.
