Life is Worth Living-First and Second Series

And I try to read it every Good Friday.

And then A Red Life is Worth Living, which is very much about written for the times, but it's good.

It talks a lot about communism in Russia and culture.

And then Go to Heaven, which I think is they've started reprinting.

He was named Bishop.

Um, And then he started a television series, Life is Worth Living, which became a huge success.

30 million viewers each week actually competing with individuals

such as Milton Berle.

he might have i mean i think because i yeah he mean he the book so this book i have right here i believe is it's a copy it's it might be a um transcript of all his were all his speech some of his speeches okay so i'll just read off some of these tell them what it's

called in case anybody wants to read it the book is worth

your life is worth living 50 lessons to deepen your faith So, and some of the, he talked about, I'll just read some of these off.

He talked about Christ in the creed, suffering, death, and resurrection, the Holy Spirit, Peter, vicar of Christ, communism in the church, purgatory, birth prevention, the four tensions of love.

And it's really interesting, folks.

In August of 78, just a couple months later, Bishop Sheen's Life is Worth Living records got into my hands.

And I wrote to the Propagation of the Faith and asked permission to put them on cassettes because nobody was listening to records back in 1978.

So that's what started me in evangelization, Archbishop Fulton Sheen, His Life is Worth Living, his convert course.

We make that available to all converts in the Catholic faith for free.

We've done that.

And, you know, I think one of the reasons we are coming back and turning this thing around is Bishop Sheen.

He's one person who has helped bring orthodoxy, right teachings back.

... invited us to, to pray.

He, he always would say, you know, "Give God a chance because your life is worth living.

God has a plan for you." And, um, and I think people understood that.

And so-

Right

... you know, there's over, there's over 100 Bishop Sheen videos on YouTube, and there are his Life Is Worth Living broadcast, there are his, uh, retreats.

And so I just point people in that direction.

Even in the Church, if I'm not getting insulted, and they're saying, "You're way off.

You're cr- you, you sh..." Like, like that one priest said 47 years ago to me when I was promoting Bishop Sheen's Life is Worth Living in 1979, and he said, "You're wasting your time.

Bishop Sheen's antiquated.

Stop it." You know what I said? "Have a great day, Father." And I said, "Full Sheen Ahead."

I'll give you a funny story.

It's funny the way we're-

25 years later after a guy came up to me and he said, "You remember me?" And I said, "Refresh my memory." He says, "Well, 25 years ago you gave me Bishop Sheen's Life Is Worth Living cassettes, and it really has changed my life.

But I didn't have the money to pay for them, but I told you I would send you a check.

He was the first TV evangelist, which is interesting in America.

His show was called Life is Worth Living.

I'm assuming at some point someone says with Archbishop Fulton Sheen.

He won an Emmy for it.

Yeah, and you can even see his shows today.

Life is Worth Living with Fulton Sheen.

Excellent, wonderful.

He was just an amazing personality.

And, um, the bottom line is she was an inspiration.

We would take all of her, uh, different shows and put 'em out through St. Joseph Communications, and she's still playing Bishop Sheen's Life Is Worth Living on her network for the past, I'm gonna say 30 years they've been doing that.

Never stopped.

So anyhow, God bless her, God rest her soul, and I hope someday that her cause will be introduced because she was, you know, she was like a Saint Catherine of Siena.
