In the 1970s, the group moved beyond the basics and entered a period that many mathematicians consider its greatest achievement.

In 1968, Bourbaki published chapters four to six of their book on Lie groups and Lie algebras.

These sections covered challenging topics, including root systems and Coxeter groups.

As their books became common in universities, Bourbaki also created a public platform, the Bourbaki seminar.
