Lido

You can.

You can get liquid at the Lido.

And they have water dispensers in the gym and at Cafe Corinthia, which is the little cafe where you can get coffees and snacks throughout the day, right? But you can't fill your bottle there because there's signs saying it's unhealthful or forbidden or whatever.

or whatever.

So literally, like I was going in and getting two glasses of ice water in the Lido, walking outside the Lido, finding a place where I could put the glasses down, get my sea cloud bottle and pouring the ice water into my sea cloud bottle so that I'd have something to drink at night in my cabin.

But that got a little boring and ponderous and annoying after a while.

And I just think, you know, that was just another Carnival Corp way of squeezing out another drop or two of revenue from the Cunard passengers.

Beautiful grand staircase there, the Art Deco light fixtures.

So most of the time I just had to go up one deck or two decks to get to wherever I wanted to go.

And it was, I think the perfect location, the other two times I've done this ship, we were kind of between those decks and the Lido up on 16.

Now, pros and cons, right? It depends what you want to be closer to and where you're going to see yourself spending more time.

But being down on deck five, too...

It was in the back of the dining room, so you had plenty of glass windows out there.

So you saw Miami off in the distance, another ship behind us.

But I did not partake in any sail away party up at the Lido deck this cruise.

Your itinerary included three sea days.

What did these sea days look like for you and your wife? Did you guys sort of wing it or kind of go through the app and plan out each of the days? I think you mentioned the crowds, how well this ship disperses, you know, throughout the Lido decks and the buffets.

But we'd love to hear more just about what these sea days look looked like for your group and you know what you guys did across the ship during those days

casino and then when we finished playing the casino we went to the casino and um and then we went back over to the casino one more time and we actually uh got a free cruise out of it so nice um But yeah, we spent a lot of time.

Is that the right word I want there? Not to mention that they name their decks after cities.

It's confusing to me.

I mean, dude, the buffet is the Lido deck.

Just call it the Lido deck.

So for those of you new to the show, welcome.

We are the Lido Loop, where we like to talk about all things cruising, theme parks, casinos, travel, and just any other aspect to help make your vacation better.

It's my last full day in Molvino, and I wanted to start it here, at the water's edge, because for two weeks this lake was closed, and now it's open, and I've learned not to take that for granted.

There's a particular quality to a lake in the early morning, before the boats start, before the families claim their spots on the Lido.

The air is cool, around 16 degrees, and the Brenta Dolomites are still sharp against the pale sky, not yet softened by the heat.

I paid about €1.50 for this cafe, and I'm stretching it because the moment feels worth holding on to.

So today I've decided will be a day of small rituals.

First, a last paddle on the lake, the board gliding over water that's finally clear again after the wildfires ash settled.

I rented from the stand near the Lido and it cost about 15 euros for an hour, which felt fair for the silence and the way the mountains reflected in the water.

I'm not a strong paddler, but I've learned the rhythm, the way to keep the board straight, and I let my mind drift with the gentle lapping of the waves against the fiberglass.

I, I was impressed with, with the maintenance and the, and the way they were handling it.

In fact, the, the ship had its 21st birthday on August 4th during our sailing, and they had a party for it on the Lido Deck with champagne and cake and-
